Life of a Careless Parent

It baffles me to see things go wrong and people look away from it or they claim not to even see such. We live in a world of battles and shackles as nothing seems to be normal in town. Through thick and thin, several people have survived life challenges as they occur but it is expedient to hold on to the truth.
It really peeves me to hear all blames by people focusing on poverty and the government. Let us consider the government first. At a bulk of time, we forget that we people are the government, we rule ourselves. Our nonchalant attitude has brought us this far. The ‘government’ as we tag the rulers care less because we are careless and also care less. These are two different things. We are careless to have allowed people like us to beguile us, we accepted deceit joyfully and blame others for our fault. We care less because we do not see our power as a powerful substance.
Considering poverty, we need to see things with a clearer vision. Poverty is not for some people, neither is it a choice but you really need to raise your mind standards to befit the glory you deserve.
Honestly, I have not forgotten my destination but I cannot but branch a few places. I will like to share a story with you so that you will clearly get my message. A few days ago, I was in a tricycle I boarded to work and beside me sat two siblings of both sexes. They lapped each other. The elder brother lapped the younger sister but I noticed that the elder brother was using his younger sister to satisfy his sexual pleasure. This is wrong for crying out loud. He was incessantly complaining of her sitting position not being centralised on his thighs. The younger sister was wondering why her brother was complaining but it was not clear to her that his brother was satisfying himself sexually.
How can the society be sure that that boy is not masturbating or sexually harassing his sister at home? It is a pity that we look away from things that really matter to us. We consider our problems from the surface without looking into the deep structure of it. If their parents were asked why they will watch children of over ten years lap each other in a public transport, they will blame poverty. But is it very possible for the parents to search their area and not find good enough schools for their children?
We all really need to know that poverty is one thing and we ourselves are another thing. We do not have to keep doing same thing same way. Necessary steps should be taken to make sure that life is worth living for them at least conducive for others to live in. Appropriate actions should be taken to make sure things stop falling out of place. It is not over until it is over. If we do not stop molestation, sexual harassment, violence and other negativities in our society, no one will do that for us. Stop hiding behind the walls of poverty just to do wrong things.
This is a collective responsibility of the society. I am playing my part by exposing this wrong act. You too can play your part by stopping the ill from your side. If you used to see nothing wrong in our discussion for today, please, note now that it is wrong and take necessary steps to further avoid such.
I will leave you with this note, when the ball is in your court, do very well to play your part decently.

Of insecurity and the palpable act of negligence

To say that the evil that men do live with them is the same as saying that humans are the causes of the mishaps that befall them. Rather than take smart steps to tackle problems that arise, humans go on a wild-goose chase, attacking the shadows of their enviable opposition and then, the problem persists. Things should never be taken for granted. Problems are like stubborn children, that stare straight into the faces of adults to defend their irrational actions. To keep such children at bay, they must be sternly dealth with, neither with a slip nor with slack in actions.
At the early hours of Monday, occupants of a room in I Block notified queenites of a theft that occured at 6:30am in their room. According to them, the thief stepped into their room as soon as one of their roomates went to use the toilet. He threatened to wound anyone that tries to resist or raise an alarm. At the end, he went away with 4 phones and 2 laptops.
While such case has never been reported in Queens Hall in a very long time, there is need to go back to the drawing board, check how the thief gained entry and steps that have been taken so far to ensure that such issue will not arise.

A step back to the drawing board

It is no doubt that Queens hall is a home away from home for most of the occupants. This explains why most queenites are careless with regards to safeguarding their rooms. While it is necessary for queenites to take concious efforts to secure their properties, the bulk of the work lies with those that have the mandate to secure the lives and properties of occupants within the hall.
Stating the problems of insecurity in the hall, the first is the fence. It is can be climbed by anyone that deems it fit. This is because there are perforated holes that makes climbing it easy either to get in or out. Should we consider the fence as an emergency exit in the hall? Lack of capable security personnels in the hall is another default. The security personnels are quite aged to be active like the younger ones. Most of the fresh men do not know them yet, they leave early. This makes them unavailable in times of urgency. The negligence of porters could make the hall vulnerable to such attacks by leaving the main entrance opened without any porter seen there. Minor things we seem not to get worried about could cause damage that cannot be easily controlled.

So far, so good. How the hall management intends to stop future occurrence

Speaking with the hall supervisor, Mr. Saheed Ojuolape. He said that ‘the hall management has written to the school for barb wire to be fixed on top of the fence. The management is making further efforts to make sure that such never happen in the hall again’.
Other steps that can be taken to ensure that such occurrence does not repeat itself is to give whistle to every queenites in order to raise an alarm whenever the need calls for it as this will call the attention of the porters, the security personnels and every other queenite to be at alert for the next step of action. Another means could be to have self defense training sessions in the hall once in a while as it might be helpful to queenites to fight against such attack anywhere they find themselves. What do you think of electric fence? Legal occupants of the hall come in through the gate. Only those with an ulterior motive will consider climbing the fence. It is no evil if they get electrocuted. Most importantly, queenites should not get tired of locking their doors at all times since every occupant has a key to the room.
Let every person play their role. The student cannot play the management’s role neither can the management play the students’ role. Identify what is right and do such in due time. Justice delayed is justice denied, so they say. Acting fast on sudden occurence brings no evil. Dear queenites, never be too loose on the strength and weakness of your residence. Act wise with all consciousness.

One of the most popular current housemates of this season’s Big brother, Angel, has accused other housemates of spoiling her market with Yousef. She had this discussion with Liquorose and Pere after their Jacuzzi party. According to her, housemates had warned Yousef to not fall for her tactics or fall for her. Liquorose responded saying that they didn’t want premium tears and even encouraged her to take Pere. This might be because Yousef is a softie while Pere is equally just as exposed as Angel.

BBNAIJA: Saga’s team react to alleged “voluntary exit” comment

The social media team of 'shine ya eye' housemate, Saga, have debunked reports making the rounds that the housemate revealed he will opt for a voluntary exit if his love interest, Nini exits the show before him. Saga's team insist the rumours are an attempt to distract votes. According to a statement released on Saga's official handles, the reports are false and are made by people attempting to distract fans from voting for him. "It is obvious that some people are working overtime just to tarnish Saga's image and distract us from VOTING all because they feel threatened by his strong personality" the statement read.

While there is no video evidence proving the housemate made the comment, he did tell Biggie during his diary session a few weeks ago that he would have rejected Liquorose’ deputy HOH offer if Nini had turned down his invitation to share the HOH lounge.
